The New York Times has posted a review of the new Resident Evil game. They give it a decent review, with plenty of caveats, calling the gameplay:
very good but falls short of excellence because of its interminable confusion about just what sort of game it wants to be
(The review also wants to make it very clear that shooting at African zombies does not make you a racist. So, there you go.)
